While we may not have control over the events in our lives,

we do have choice as to how we will respond.

If you are seeking individual or group psychotherapy, Fredda Wasserman, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist maintains a private practice in West Los Angeles with a focus in the following areas:

Living with Life-Changing Illness

Being diagnosed with a life-changing illness can put you into a tail-spin.  Taking an active role in your own healing process can help.

Fredda will help you understand the mind/body connection and the field of       psycho-neuroimmunology.  Rather than resisting the changes or going on as if change wasn't occurring, discover the value of acknowledging what is happening.  From this position, it may become easier to prioritize and make decisions about treatment options.

You will utilize guided imagery, relaxation techniques, and other stress management tools to help you transform fear, stress and worry into clarity, hope, and healing actions.  The skills you will learn are designed to be used in combination with, not as a substitute for, any medical treatment plan you may be following.

As you reclaim good health, you may discover new meaning and purpose in your life.  Fredda will guide and accompany you in creating the life of your dreams.

At the End of Life's Journey

In our culture, few people seem to be comfortable talking about end-of-life.  Yet, as surely as we were born, there will be a time when our journey will come to an end.

What a contrast this is to how readily we think and speak about the beginning of life.  When someone is anticipating a baby coming into their world, they are often asked:  When do you think it will happen?  What do you think it will be like?  Are you ready?  Are you afraid?  How are you preparing for it?

People facing end-of-life frequently have these same questions on their minds.  Meaningful communication at end-of-life can be enriching for the person who is dying and for the family and friends.  It can be an opportunity for great sacredness and healing to happen.  (Remember that healing does not mean curing; rather, it refers to making whole.)

Many individuals, families, and dear ones, find that they are looking for a way to start the conversation. Contact Fredda to help you plan a healing circle or support you in some way through this time of transition.

Grief and Mourning

After the death of a dear one, you will embark upon a journey of grief that may feel unfamiliar and confusing.  Each person's grieving process is a unique journey through uncharted territory.  It can help to have the support of someone who understands.

In addition to being someone who is trained to listen and support you emotionally, Fredda will introduce you to how guided imagery, meditation, and art can help you find ways to calm your mind, nourish your soul, honor the memory of the person who died, and heal your heart.

Creating the Life of Your Dreams

Throughout your life you are making decisions about who you are, who you want to be, and what path you will follow.  Rather than searching “out there” for answers, allow yourself to go inward, quiet the internal chatter, and listen.

Fredda can guide you through your search to as you:

¨       Reclaim meaning in life

¨       Reprioritize your goals

¨       Make order out of chaos

¨       Achieve and maintain a satisfying life balance

A typical session utilizes guided imagery, art, meditation and conversation as you pursue your quest to fill your life with passion, meaning, and purpose.
